A downloadable game for Windows

Made for the 18th RPG Maker Horror Game Jam

Emily feels a lot more tired than usual. Ethan knows something's wrong, but his sister insists that everything's fine.

She says he can't go to the attic.  She says that it's empty, and there's nothing interesting up there, but he knows he didn't imagine the fear in her eyes she gazed upon that locked door.

Emily's acting strange. He often hears her talking to herself in the bathroom at night, repeating over and over, that "everything's fine".

Isn't it?

I like this game, but having to go into the game files to get the code broke the immersion for me and I can't figure out what the password is.

Thank you, though to be honest, that was more of a proof of concept than something that had actual plot relevance. I'd just wanted to see if I could get something like that to work.

For the password, have a look around the rooms before you enter the it. There are some clues that should help you figure it out. You can also use the length of the password to help. If not, check Ethan's book.

Thank you for your feedback!

Hello there! This is the first RPG maker game I've played for a while, and I got to say it's pretty good. Initially, I thought it would be a horror-riddled game with a lot of chases and such that I did a lot of save upon any interactions XD But, putting that aside, I like how the story is directed despite it leaving some unanswered questions. Nonetheless, t'was a good experience, good job!

Thank you! :D

Hello. :) I want to play this, but I can't figure out what to do after the book goes missing. I've looked everywhere I could think of but no dice.

Hi! :D

I suggest you take a look at the table, where Ethan was sitting.

Alright, I finished the game. Or partly, I don't think I managed to figure out all the secrets out. :o

I like the use of black and white, and the intro cutscene was pretty cool. :) The puzzles were pretty clever too.

I noticed one bug. If you choose not to read the diary on the bookshelf, it doesn't remove the picture.

Anyways, it was a neat experience, even if I feel like I probably missed some stuff. :)

Thanks for playing, I'm glad you liked it! I'll work on fixing that bug!

Heyo, I tried to start it but it's telling me that "RPGVXAce RTP is required to run this game". Where would I go to download that?

Hiya,

I think the only thing from the RTP is the default font, so if you install the font included in the game's files, it should work!

Otherwise, you can download the RTP from this website:  https://www.rpgmakerweb.com/run-time-package

Thank you very much! I downloaded the font before but that didn't work, and when I downloaded the thing, the game opened just fine. I played through it all and it was great. The art style is awesome, the sprites are cute, and the story is nicely done. There were a few times where I struggled a bit, but when I figured it out, I was proud of myself. The only things I can really critique about the game is that some areas feel a little too open (or maybe I just don't understand room layouts that much, haha) and if I remember there was a few grammar errors near the beginning. Overall, really great work and I can't wait so see what you do in the future!

Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Hi! I wanted to play your game but it crashed when it couldn't find the 4th Sound File I think (?) right after Ethan woke me up :o Do you think I installed it the wrong way?

It's a mistake on my end, don't worry! I'm fixing it!

all fixed!
